Welcome to the Delano Bed and Breakfast, voted the Best BnB in Wichita! We invite you to step back in time and experience the charm and history of our lovingly restored 1910 home, nestled in the heart of the historic Delano district.
Meet Your Hosts
We’re Keith and Sherri, passionate about entertaining and making sure our guests feel like family. Sharing our home with visitors allows us to do what we love most—create memorable experiences for everyone who walks through our doors. Whether you’re here for a short stay or a weekend getaway, we’re as involved as you want us to be, ready to share stories, provide recommendations, or simply offer you peace and quiet.
Keith is an avid historian with a deep love for Kansas and Wichita history. He’s always excited to chat about the local area and share our home’s unique past. Sherri, on the other hand, delights in creating cozy, personalized experiences for our guests, from preparing a vintage-inspired continental breakfast to hosting special tea parties in our charming Garden Tea Room.
Our Historic Home
Our home was originally built in 1910 by Morris Schollenberger, who founded Wichita’s first auto dealership. Its rich history continued when Dr. Good, a local dentist and chiropractor, owned the home, and to this day, it retains many original features—restored hardwood floors, period furnishings, and even original wallpaper in the medicine cabinet.
Both of our guest rooms, the “Good” room and the “Schollenberger” room, offer a comfortable retreat with private bathrooms and vintage decor, blending modern amenities with early 20th-century charm.
A Memorable Stay
Start your morning with our delicious continental breakfast, served on vintage dinnerware in the dining room, or enjoy it in the garden if the weather permits. Our breakfasts include fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, juice, and freshly brewed coffee or tea. And if you’re in the mood for something special, Sherri offers an optional “Tea Time” with gourmet tea and sweet treats, served in our delightful garden setting.
Our location is unbeatable—just a short walk to Wichita’s historic downtown, the Riverfront Baseball Stadium, and other must-see attractions. Stroll through the beautiful Delano district, known for its cowboy-era history, quaint shops, and excellent restaurants, or hop on the FREE Q-Line bus to explore even more of the city.
Special Events
At the Delano Bed and Breakfast, we also offer unique experiences such as girls’ spa nights, tea parties, or small gatherings. These events can be tailored to your preferences and take place in our picturesque garden or cozy Garden Tea Room by the fire pit.
A Dog-Friendly Home
We’re also dog lovers, and our small dog, Dozer, is a friendly presence at the BnB. He’s sure to welcome you with wagging tails and a warm heart.

We stayed two days and felt very welcome by Sherry and her husband! The room was comfortable and the breakfast and snacks were so yummy! The table was set beautifully with old china cups and other pretty dishes! The house is older but I like the charm that it has! Thank you for making us feel right at home! So much better than staying in a regular hotel!! We will come again!
My husband and I stayed at Delano B & B last night. We had a delightful time. Our hosts were so friendly and the home beautiful and so comfortable.
The Delano B&Bis an old historic home with two guest bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. My bedroom was very comfortable and quaint.It is located in a quiet neighborhood and close to dining, baseball field, shopping, library, river and the Keeper of the Plains.The hosts were very charming and extremely accommodating. I thoroughly my extended stay and by the time I left I felt like part of the famil.
My partner and I had a wonderful time! Sherri was incredible and the home is beautiful! We really appreciated the history, and the great suggestions for stuff to do! Breakfast was literally and yummy! We will for sure be back!
What an unexpected find on our drive from Colorado to Florida! Keith and Sherri are wonderful, engaging hosts. Turn-of-the-century Victorian home! Our room was very clean and the bed very comfortable (better than hotels!). Thank you, Keith & Sherri! We will be back!
