Named after the second family to own the Elizabeth Street house, the Dr. Good Room reflects the warmth and simplicity of a bygone era. The Dr. Good family purchased the home in 1935 and lovingly cared for it until 2006. With its antique furnishings and timeless charm, this cozy retreat will bring back memories of visits to Grandma’s house.
A full-size antique bed dressed in comfortable bedding promises a restful night’s sleep. The room is furnished with an armoire-dresser, antique period pieces, and original early 20th-century European paintings that add character and charm. A beautiful vintage nightstand topped with a stained-glass lamp creates the perfect ambiance for relaxing evenings. For your comfort, spa robes are also provided during your stay.
The spacious private bathroom features a shower with a handicap seat, a full sink with vanity cabinet, and a unique touch of history — Dr. Good’s original medical supply cabinet, now serving as a small closet. Be sure to look inside and notice the cabinet’s original wallpaper. A traditional skeleton key locks the bathroom door, adding another nostalgic detail to your stay.

For your comfort, the room features its own temperature controls, allowing you to create the perfect setting for a restful stay. The private bathroom showcases original subway tile and classic barbershop-style flooring, along with a tub and shower combination and a charming vintage corner sink that reflects the home’s historic character.
